How To Stop Pride From Destroying Your Life

Ilustrations

Pride may be dangerous. Proverb says this will kill you. To avoid destruction, we must repent and follow Jesus. Thus, we will become low. We must also pray for a new heart. Ezekiel 36:26 states God will give you a new heart if you pray.

Perfectionism drives self-glorification. Pride hurts both its owner and others. Comparison and devaluation harm all parties. Many of society's problems stem from pride in one's own achievements, which has terrible effects. Pride inspired systems that categorize people.

These regimes give the idea that one group is morally superior while degrading the others. These systems are proudly human-made. We tend to categorize people, which may give some groups the sense they are more powerful and successful.

Many suffer with readily offending. You may either treat everyone like a fragile flower or learn to be less sensitive to slights. Oversensitivity to slights can damage pride, dignity, and self-respect. Examples:

Successful Christians must overcome pride. The Bible often warns against pride. It brings bad luck. Pride is "self-importance," "self-sufficiency," "egoism," "arrogance," "bluster," and "vanity." Obedience and reliance on God can cure pride.

Despite wanting to be like others, we cannot compare ourselves to them. This harmful habit makes us annoyed, apprehensive, and paralysed. Instead, we should focus on our strengths. Everyone has unique experiences, abilities, and potential for love, service, and contribution. Instead of copying others, we can create our own future by taking a constructive look at ourselves.

Pride hinders success. It keeps you in mediocrity and maintains your image. Pride destroys relationships.

Pride is a too self-centered heart. It opposes humility, which God wants from us in our connection. The Bible defines pride as self-exaltation. The Bible warns that pride, a sin, might lead to devil-condemnation.

Idolatry is the worship of non-Gods. The Bible calls this idoltry. Sin destroys oneself. Politics and marriage are examples of idoltry. Because they reject God as their creator, these idolters enslave and slaughter others.
